On November 2, 2020, the Titan Group of Companies turns 30. Today the holding is one of the largest operators of timber raw materials in Russia.
The volume of investments for modernization amounted to more than 55 billion rubles over the past 15 years.
Despite the diversity of business (the Titan holding is represented by four key business lines), the basic ones are logging and woodworking.
“The task of the Titan Group of Companies is not only to provide raw materials to the two largest enterprises of the country – the Russian industry leaders - Arkhangelsk PPM JSC and Sawmill 25 CJSC, but also to comply with high environmental standards,” emphasizes Vladimir Krupchak, the founder of the holding, the member of the Board of Directors of the company.
According to Aleksey Kudryavtsev, CEO of the Titan Group of Companies, the holding intends to reach the volume of procurement of 5.5 million m3 of raw materials by 2022. “Our plans include the development of the estimated allowable cut, which has been allocated to us as part of the implementation of priority investment projects,” noted Aleksey Kudryavtsev. “This is a mid-term prospect - to achieve full development of that estimated allowable cut that has been provided to us”.
Now the annual volume of wood raw materials supplies to Arkhangelsk PPM JSC and Sawmill 25 CJSC is more than 5.5 million m³, of which more than 4.0 million m³ is procured by the Titan Group of Companies.
At the end of 2019, the area of reforestation by the Titan Group of Companies amounted to 16.7 thousand hectares. Approximately 2.5 million coniferous tree seedlings have been planted on the forest land. Half of them have a closed root system.
In 2020, the Titan Group of Companies plans to carry out reforestation work on an area of 20 thousand hectares, which will include measures to promote natural reforestation and planting pine and spruce seedlings.
The holding's own tree nursery in the Nyandoma region will grow about a million young pines and firs in 2020.
On October 1, 2019, the Dvinsko-Pinezhsky State Nature Complex (Landscape) Reserve of regional significance with an area of 302 thousand hectares was created with a significant contribution from the Titan Group of Companies.
In January 2020, WWF Russia and the Titan Group of Companies signed an agreement on the voluntary protection of a primeval taiga site with an area of 1,834 hectares adjacent to the Dvinsko-Pinezhsky Nature Reserve.
In addition, the Titan Group of Companies together with WWF Russia and with the participation of FSC Russia signed a Roadmap for the conservation of high conservation value forests until 2028.
The roadmap includes an action plan for the preservation of biological and landscape diversity, including the expansion of existing specially protected natural areas and the creation of new ones on the 24 forest areas in the Arkhangelsk region, which are under the operational management of the Titan Group of Companies, Arkhangelsk PPM JSC and Sawmill 25 CJSC. In addition, in 2020, the Titan Group of Companies will begin to implement an intensive sustainable forestry model on its lease area over 2.5 million hectares.
The Titan is a constant and active partner of WWF's Earth Hour and Environmental Duty Day programs, the all-Russian events “Save the Forest” and “Garden of Memory”.
Annual investments in the construction of infrastructure (roads, crossings and bridges) at the territories of operations amount to more than 300 million rubles. In the next five years, the Titan holding will invest an additional 500 million rubles in this area of operation.
Every year the program of charity and social assistance at the territories of the Titan Group of Companies operation amounts to more than 100 million rubles.
The Titan Group of Companies was founded in 1990.
The strategic direction of activity is logging (the estimated allowable cut is 5.5 million m³) and woodworking (the largest sawmill in the European part of Russia - Sawmill 25 CJSC).
The Titan Group of Companies includes 10 separate logging divisions (Velskoe, Dmitrievskoe, Karpogorskoe, Lukovetskoe, Pinezhskoe, Konoshskoe, Syamzhenskoe, Ust-Pokshengskoe, Svetlozerskoe, Shalakushskoe), Verkhnetoemsky LPH LLC, as well as its own logistics company - Belomorskaya Boom Company LLC.
The capacities of the three sites of Sawmill 25 CJSC allow to process 2 million m³ of sawing logs at an annual rate, the volume of sawn timber production is 850 thousand m³, pellets - 200 thousand tons.
