CJSC “SAWMILL 25” DAUGHTER COMPANY INVESTED 125 MILLION RUBLES TO UPGRADE A BIOFUEL BOILER HOUSE
On April 23, 2019 LLC “Arkhbioenergo”, a subsidiary of CJSC “Sawmill 25”, opened a refurbished boiler house running on biofuel (wood pellets) at Katunino settlement.
The modernization cost has amounted to 135 million rubles.
The total capacity of the boiler house operating since 2011 has increased from 12 MW to 20 MW. This will allow supplying heat to the people as well as to the social, educational, sporting and many other facilities of Katunino settlement.
LLC “Arkhbioenergo” specialists have carried out a large preparatory work. This has resulted in selection of some native equipment developed by a Russian producer LLC “Kovrovskie kotly”.
The new boilers have been adapted to operate along with the existing imported boilers. Practically a new boiler house has been built for 7 months alongside with the existing boiler house. It has two boilers with the total capacity 8 MW. The boilers are equipped with a separate fuel line, separate silage, but a control unified with the existing boilers.
The upgraded boiler house operates in the automatic mode and is maintained by one operator.
Nowadays there are five boiler houses of LLC “Arkhbioenergo” running on wood pellets: at Katunino, Bobrovo, Laiskiy dock, Lugovoy settlement and the settlement of Sawmill 23 in Arkhangelsk. The total capacity of the boiler houses makes 25.5 MW (21.9 Gcal/hr).
CJSC “Sawmill 25” is a supplier of the fuel - wood pellets - for the boiler houses.
As indicated by Vladimir Krupchak, a member of Board of Directors for Titan Group and CJSC “Sawmill 25”, the company started to produce pellets since 2008 because the shareholders had understood the importance of a full cycle of waste-free timber processing within the vertically integrated structure with a necessity to transfer to the up-to-date technologies of heat and power supply.
“The long term successful experience of CJSC “Sawmill 25” in the use of sawing wastes as a raw material for power supply, including Arkhangelsk region boiler houses, let us completely discontinue coal and fuel oil usage, which has considerably minimized air pollution”, – Vladimir Krupchak concluded.
