TITAN GROUP LAUNCHED ACTIVITIES IN KHOLMOGORY FORESTRY UNDER THE ANNUAL SCALE CAMPAIGN ON REFORESTATION IN RUSSIA

The target is to plant 19.6 thousand seedlings of spruce with the closed root system in the area of 7 hectares; this is the holding’s contribution to the national project “Let’s preserve the forest”.
-  This year the forest fires and their awful consequences is the topic number one in Russia. We all watched the events in Yakutia, where the fire covered millions of hectares of the forest. Luckily the nature was merciful to Arkhangelsk region in this respect. But nevertheless, TG supported the action as a socially and environmentally responsible activity, - Director of Forestry for LLC PKP Titan Sergey Shevelev indicated.

Lukovetsk subdivision of LLC PKP Titan organized the action in Kholmogory forestry. The company prepared the areas, bought seedlings and invited activists to participate. On the first day the employees of Kholmogory forestry came out to plant.

- The seedlings were delivered from Vologda region. The planting material is of a very good quality. All the young trees are strong, healthy, with the closed root system, have standard sizes. We plant manually, carefully, with love. So, we hope for a high acclimation, - Head of Lukovetsk subdivision for LLC PKP Titan Alexander Kuzenkov explained.

Titan Group has been taking part in the campaign “Let’s preserve the forest” for a number of years. Thus, in 2020 under the action, the holding and its partners planted over 700 thousand of young trees of coniferous species. Reforestation was completed in the area of 205 ha on the territory of Ustyany, Velsk, Priozerny and Kholmogory forestry units. Let us mention that the holding supports these environmental actions in addition to its own annual reforestation programs.

Altogether in 2021 LLC PKP Titan will perform planting on the area of 18.5 ha in the districts of its own production presence in Arkhangelsk region. The scheduled volume of reforestation works has been 80% completed.
